Bluecrew’s First Home: What We Love About The Bay Area
The Bay Area is special to us for a number of reasons. First and foremost is the fact that it was Bluecrew’s original home.
When Bluecrew was first introduced in 2015, we filled our first jobs in the Bay Area. San Francisco was home to our original headquarters - before we moved the HQ to Chicago - and we’re proud to work with more than 9,000 Crew Members in the area.
From the beginning, we partnered with moving companies and warehouses throughout San Francisco and Oakland, and reaching all the way to San Jose and Sacramento. Our Crew Members have become critical parts of the area’s warehousing and distribution companies, and we’ve had a lot of fun working with local stadiums for sporting events. Some of our best days are spent with cashiers and cooks in stadiums, or catering companies that work in the Bay Area’s coolest venues. It’s exciting to be part of the Bay Area’s dynamic culture.
During the pandemic, a lot of the stadiums and events we typically staff have been (obviously) pretty quiet. But we’ve had an opportunity to help some of California’s essential businesses keep the state, and the nation, moving. We have Warehouse Associates, Forklift Operators, Picker/Packers, and more playing essential rolls across the area.
As California starts to open up and more and more of our local clients are going back to work, we’re taking this opportunity to reflect on what we love about California. One of our local Account Managers, Quintin, offered up his time to tell us more about his experience and what the Bay Area has been like during quarantine.

What do you love about the Bay Area?
The Bay Area has everything a person could want! There are so many opportunities and events, and with many different cultures, there is never a dull moment. Beyond that, I have to appreciate the perfect weather - it’s never too hot and never too cold!
It has also been great to be part of Bluecrew’s team in the area. We have supplied jobs to thousands of local workers throughout the Bay Area. I love that Bluecrew can help provide them with stability and financial security. Bluecrew is a great resource for people who are seeking employment, and it’s so much fun to be part of something that is making a difference in their lives.
What has the Bay Area been like during shelter-in-place?
Definitely a lot quieter, since we only have essential businesses in operation. At the same time, it’s comforting and motivating to see so many people in the community following CDC guidelines by social distancing and wearing masks. I appreciate that we’re all working together to keep our community healthy. I also appreciate that the companies that remain open seem to be treating their employees well and focusing on worker safety. It really does feel like we’re all on the same team, working towards the same goals.
There are a lot of things I miss though - especially traveling! I am going to be so excited when I can travel again!
What are you most looking forward to about getting everyone back to work?
Right now, I think a lot of people are stressed about what the future will hold. As businesses reopen, I am excited to help more and more of our Crew Members get back to work. It’s a lot of fun to get to connect people with jobs, and I’m excited to help bring those feelings of comfort and security back to our community.
What is your favorite part of being on the Bluecrew team?
Part of my job includes being a resource to our local Crew Members - when they send in questions or messages, I’m often the person who answers them! In addition, I get to do a lot of site visits and chat with our team while they’re on-the-job.
One of my favorite memories was when I scheduled a meeting with a local food service client - they told all of the workers that I was coming in to visit. The week leading up to my visit, a bunch of the Crew Members messaged me saying how excited they were for me to swing by. It made me feel great that they were so excited to catch up, and when I got there they were all really excited to share how successful they were in their current roles. Times like that let me know that for a lot of people, we’re able to make a difference.
