Staffing and Sunshine in Southern California
Everybody talks about Southern California for the weather and the movie stars, but it has so much more to offer. Bluecrew began in the San Francisco Bay Area, so the Los Angeles area was a natural first expansion. We started staffing around L.A. in 2015, and we love being part of the local SoCal culture.
When our team initially expanded into the Los Angeles area, we did so in order to keep helping out the California companies that we had built strong relationships with in other California cities. We began with primarily warehouse jobs, dishwashers, and catering positions. And with so much going on in the Los Angeles area, we were quickly able to expand.
Today, we’re working with companies across Orange County, Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, and everything in between. Lately, our Crew Members have been focused on helping warehouses, distribution centers, and third-party logistics companies stay fully staffed during the COVID-19 crisis.
Looking to the future, we’re looking forward to getting back to more “normal” operations in and around Los Angeles. Our L.A. team is proud to have so many Warehouse Associates, Forklift Operators, and Movers around the LA, Inland Empire, and Orange County areas. But we’re excited at the same time to get our hospitality-focused Crew Members back to work in their jobs as Catering Attendants, Cooks, Event Staff, and more.
With reopening on the horizon for many Southern California businesses, we asked Nick, Account Manager for the Inland Empire, to share his take on what’s been going on around the Los Angeles area.

What do you love about the Inland Empire and Los Angeles?
The Inland Empire in California is one of the most beautiful areas of Southern California, with palm trees, mountains, snow and desert all within a few miles of each other. And it doesn’t hurt that Hollywood and some of the most iconic beaches in the world are only a stone’s throw away.
What’s it like to be on the Bluecrew team in the Los Angeles area?
Bluecrew has provided countless jobs to people in the area, and has helped companies across L.A., Inland Empire, and Orange County get the staff they need at a moments’ notice. From Electronics Assemblers and Shipping and Receiving Clerks, to Forklift Operators and Delivery Drivers, our local employers have been able to provide jobs to a very diverse workforce.
What has the Inland Empire been like during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Aside from essential businesses, everything has been shut down! Thankfully, the parks and trails have been open, for the most part, and outdoor life has continued as usual, though with much less people. The beaches have started to open back up and social distancing is being enforced there, which has made for some very quiet, relaxing outings. Plus, I was thankful to learn that my coffee and sushi habit could continue with curbside pickup - it’s never been more important to support our local businesses!
During shelter-in-place, I’ve missed weekend outings with friends more than anything. It has always been the part of the week we look forward to, and a great way to connect with everyone in a city that is always bustling. Trying new local hot spots is a SoCal pastime, and Zoom brunches just don’t cut it! I will be excited to get to see friends and explore around the Los Angeles area again soon.
What are you most looking forward to most about reopening?
I’m looking forward to helping our partners safely re-open with the help of our Crew Members. This has been a stressful time for businesses and Crew Members alike, and I can’t wait to help meet the needs of both at the same time. I know the world is looking more and more different every day, but I’m so glad I get to be someone companies and Crew Members can rely on to help them get back on their feet.
What’s your favorite Bluecrew memory?
My fondest memory is when I helped bring a few Crew Members to a company for what was supposed to be a single-day job during the pandemic. The company liked working with one of our Crew Members so much they offered them a full-time job through the platform. That Crew Member was so thankful for the opportunity, and the messages I received from them really made my day. The whole experience reaffirmed why I was drawn to Bluecrew in the first place.
